This meeting addresses a wide range of topics of interest not only for those who are active members of RPSD, but for all professionals who are engaged in radiation protection, neutral and charged particle transport, nuclear data, medical physics, facility design, or any aspect of radiation shielding. One of the strengths of RPSD meetings is the synergy between methods development and the needs of the application community. Our objective is to provide an environment that fosters that interaction, so that attendees will leave with a renewed sense of interest in their own work, an appreciation of meaningful interactions with colleagues and friends, and new ways of solving technical problems.
On Sunday, we will hold several timely workshops covering topics like software development practices, uncertainty quantification, and software tutorials for MCNP ®, NJOY, ADVANTG, ITS/SCEPTER, Attila4MC, and several others. We will finish off the day with a social event held on the roof top where drinks and tapas will be provided for registered attendees. Throughout the week we will hold technical sessions where researchers present current work in areas ranging from RPS applications in space, medicine, and accelerators to numerical methods development in mathematics and computation focused sessions.
Additional collaborative/social/networking events include a Tuesday evening outing at the world famous Meow Wolf art exhibition, a banquet dinner in the hotel garden on wednesday with music by the Hill Stompers, and a outdoor excursion on Friday to the Jemez mountains to wrap up the meeting.
